How to Apply Your Press-On Nails
How to Apply Press-On Nails
Press-on nails are a quick and easy way to get salon-quality nails at home. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to apply them:
Materials Needed:
- Press-on nails
- Nail file
- Cuticle pusher
- Alcohol swabs
- Nail glue or adhesive tabs
Instructions:
-
Prepare Your Nails:
- Clean your nails: Use an alcohol swab to remove any dirt or oil from your natural nails.
- Shape your nails: If necessary, file your natural nails to match the shape of the press-ons.
- Push back cuticles: Use a cuticle pusher to gently push back your cuticles.
-
Choose the Right Size:
- Measure: Hold each press-on nail against your natural nail to find the best fit.
- Adjust if necessary: If a press-on is too large, you can file down the edges to make it fit better.
-
Apply Nail Glue or Adhesive Tabs:
- For glue: Apply a small amount spread into a thin layer of nail glue to your natural nail making sure to keep space around your cuticle. This helps to prevent spillage. Place a small drop of glue onto the back of each press-on nail and spread around.
- For adhesive tabs: Place an adhesive tab on the back of each press-on nail.
-
Apply the Press-Ons:
- Start from the base: Press the press-on nail onto your natural nail, starting from the base and smoothing it down towards the tip.
- Hold in place: Hold the press-on nail in place for 10-15 seconds to allow the glue or adhesive to set.
- Repeat for all nails: Follow the same steps for the remaining nails.
Additional Tips:
- Avoid water: Wait at least an hour after applying the press-ons before getting your hands wet.
- Remove gently: When you're ready to remove the press-ons, soak your nails in warm soapy water with a few drops of oil for a few minutes to loosen the adhesive.
- Store properly: Store your press-on nails in their original packaging or a sealed container to keep them clean and prevent damage.
